Description

Wade King Elementary After-School Rugby Program (September-October 2025)

Join Chuckanut Bay Rugby Club for a fun and engaging after-school rugby program at Wade King Elementary! This program, designed for elementary students of all skill levels, will run from September 24th to October 29th 2025 and introduce kids to the exciting sport of rugby through non-contact flag rugby games and activities.

Each session will include:

  • Warmups to get kids moving and energized.
  • Skill-building drills focused on ball handling, passing, teamwork, and spatial awareness.
  • Non-contact Rippa Rugby scrimmages, emphasizing fun and safety.

No prior rugby experience is needed! Our experienced rugby coaches will ensure every child feels confident and has a blast on the field.

Participants will learn the fundamentals of rugby while developing their fitness, coordination, and teamwork skills in a supportive environment. Further details, including what to bring and behavior expectations, will be shared upon registration.

BEHAVIOR EXPECTATIONS

 

To make sure everyone has fun and stays safe, we ask all students to follow these rules:

  1. Be Respectful

    • Be kind to coaches, other students, and staff.
    • Speak nicely and don’t bully or tease others.

  2. Stay Safe

    • Follow the coach’s instructions to stay safe.
    • No rough play or hurting others.

  3. Do Your Best

    • Try your best and participate in all activities.
    • Wear the right clothes for playing rugby.

  4. Be Responsible

    • Take care of your things and help clean up.
    • Keep the play area neat and tidy.

  5. Work as a Team

    • Encourage and support your teammates.
    • Play fair and practice good sportsmanship.

Dismissal Policy

If a student doesn’t follow the behavior rules, the following steps will be taken:

  1. First Warning

    • The coach will talk to the student about their behavior.

  2. Second Warning

    • If the behavior continues, parents will be notified.

  3. Final Step

    • If the behavior still doesn’t improve, the student may be removed from the program. No refunds will be given if this happens.

By signing up, both students and parents agree to these rules to keep the program fun and safe for everyone.
